  • New regulation Kepdir No. 124 Tahun 2020

    The Indonesian authority SDPPI published the new regulation Kepdir No. 124 Tahun 2020 which officially came into force on July 28th 2020. The regulation replaces the previous regulation Kepdirjen No. 36 Tahun 2020 and will be valid for 6 months.
    In the regulation, two different lists are included, one list for overseas labs recognized for HKT products (page 4-5 English version) and the second one for non HKT products (page 6-9 English version).
    The test reports of the listed laboratories can be used for a paperwork approval where no local RF and EMC testing are required.

  • SDPPI updates 76-77 Ghz radar regulation

    After issuing the draft in December 2019, the Indonesian Authority "Sumber Daya dan Perangkat Pos dan Informatika" SDPPI issued the new regulation for 76 - 77 Ghz radar devices on 2020-02-11.

     

    According to this new regulation called 'PERDIRJEN SDPPI No. 3 Tahun 2020' “Directorate General of Resource and Post and Informatics Number 03 of 2020” applications for 76 - 77 GHz Automotive Short Range Radar Systems can be submitted from now on. 

    The technical specifications remain quite similar to the old regulation:

    • Output power < 55 dBm
    • Bandwidth < 1 GHz
    • EMC conductions emissions on DC power ports must meet class A requirement

    Please note that the authority didn't publish a list with accredited test labs for 76 - 77 GHz. Thus, only paperwork applications are possible at the moment.

  • New Regulation No. 197

    On December 3rd of 2019, SDPPI released a new policy KEPDIRJEN SDPPI NOMOR 197 TAHUN 2019 to revise the previous KEPDIRJEN SDPPI NOMOR 183 TAHUN 2019, published on 14th of November 2019.

    The revision was necessary because, after internal evaluation by authority (SDPPI), more laboratories are qualified to certify HKT products

  • New Regulation N° 183

    The Ministry of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia replaced the regulation N° 138 Tahun 2019 (which has expired on 15. October 2019)

    The main amendment is the reduction of the listed accredited labs.

    The new Regulation Nomor 183 Tahun 2019 is valid until 15. April 2020.

  • Module name indication on certificate

    SDPPI - Telecommunication Authority in Indonesia - informed that for future certificates the integrated module name must be indicated on the certificate additionally to the model name. This has not been officially announced yet.

    Where the application of a product using a module is submitted, all module test reports of the installed modules must be submitted to SDPPI as well.

  • WLAN device other than 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz

    SDPPI issued the announcement number 250/KOMINFO/DJSDPPI/SP.04.03/03/2019 stating how devices can be launched on the market which operate in frequency bands other than 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz.

    At present, SDPPI explains there are only specifications which regulate the usage of frequency bands of 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz in Indonesia.

    Thus, in order to apply for a Type Approval Homologation with regard to telecommunication devices, the applicant should provide a declaration letter ensuring that: 

     - Frequency bands other than 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz will be deactivated in the device before placing on the market of Indonesia.

    Where the device does not meet the above stated requirements of the applicable regulation, the applicant will be imposed with sanctions.

  • SDPPI - Recognition of international test reports

    SDPPI published a new announcement namely „KEPDIRJEN POSTEL No. 138 Year 2019“ with respect to International Test Laboratory Recognition for Cellular Phones, Handheld Computer and Tablet Computers.

    The announcement states that SDPPI has recognized international laboratories for cellular phone, handheld computer, and tablet computer products.

    Applicants who apply for SDPPI certification for cellular phones, handheld computer and tablet computer products, local tests will not be performed. Test reports from international laboratories will be recognized. List of recognized laboratories by SDPPI can be found in the first attachment of "KEPDIRJEN POSTEL No. 138 Year 2019".

    Furthermore, SDPPI issued an additional official announcement namely "394/DJSDPPI/SP.04.09/04/201" confirming that this new announcement is only valid for mobile phone, handheld computer, and tablets.

    For other devices which do not belong to that classification local tests have to be performed in order to obtain a SDPPI certification.

  • New Regulation Issuance

    The SDPPI has recently issued a new regulation (16th Year 2018) which regulates the Operational Provision of Telecommunication Tools and Equipment Certification and replaces the Regulation Number 18 Year or 2014.

     

    The most important changes concern the following points:

     

    1 . Certification of same products that are originated from different countries:

     

    “Telecommunication tools and / or equipment that have same brand, model/type but originating from different countries must meet the technical requirements and proven by different certificates

     

     

    2. Certification Revision or Change

     

    In regard of certificate revision, article 13 (page 10 of the regulation) states that certificate revision is possible under certain circumstances:

     

    The Certificate Holder must submit Certification revision when occurs:

     

    • Change of certificate holder name
    • Change Certificate holder address and/or
    • Certificates ownership transfer to other parties

     

    3. New Labeling Requirements

     

    There are 4 important requirements to follow:

     

    1. Article 15: The obligation of attaching label, QR and Warning Sign

     

    1. Certificate holder must attach label and QR Code (that’s shown on the certificate) on every certified Telecommunication Tool and/or Equipment before they are traded and/or used.
    2. Certificate holder must attach a warning sign on the Telecommunication tool and/or devices.

    Exempted are short range devices

     

    1. Article 16 (label and QR code)

     

    • The label must be comply with a predetermined format

    (in case that is not possible to attached the label on the product, the label can be attached on the packaging

     

    • The QR code should be attached on packaging (each packaging) of the certified Telecommunication Toll and/or devices
    • The warning sign is in form of a statement that everyone is prohibited to make changes into the telecommunication tools and/or devices.

    It should be fixed on each packaging considering the format.

  • Major change of Equipment Certification at SDPPI

    SDPPI just released the new regulation on telecommunication equipment certification "PM Kominfo No 7 Tahun 2018": 

    Before the issuing of this regulation, the flow of applications were as follows:

    1) Submission of application documents and receiving testing reference letter from SDPPI
    2) Pretest and official test in SDPPI Laboratory
    3) Evaluation of test results and release of certificate by SDPPI
    4) Certificate issuance

    Below is the new workflow and its changes 

    1) Testing in SDPPI-accredited test Laboratory (can be either in-country SDPPI-accepted test lab or foreign SDPPI-accepted test Laboratory) with output of a test report
    2) Submission of test report and application documents to SDPPI for evaluation

    3) Certificate issuance

    Here are the big changes regarding the applicant, who must be Indonesian registered company either:

    • Brand owner that is legally incorporated in Indonesia, or
    • Indonesian business entity that’s designated as an authorized representative or distributor by foreign brand owner

    Previously the submission at SDPPI was done in the SDPPI online system, but since this is being changed now to Online Single Submission (OSS) system of Republic Indonesia, only domestic companies can apply for approval by logging in with the business license number (NIB) and password. SDPPI Online accounts from manufacturers outside Indonesia will be probably disabled for submission of Type Approval applications. 

    The new regulation also states that

    • every telecommunication device that is manufactured, assembled, imported, sold or used in Indonesia must be certified
    • after three years (per certification date) the Telecommunications equipment must be re-certified - if it is still being produced and/or imported to be sold and used in Indonesia.

    This means that there will no longer be a renewal process, but instead full new approval needs to be done (including testing), which also means that the certificate number and product label will change.
     


  • Indonesia is planning new WLAN Regulation

    Indonesia's SDPPI is drafting new regulations for WLAN, including a much broader use of 5 GHz. After a public consultation in January 2018 the new allocation stipulated is:

    1. 2400 – 2483,5 MHz
    2. 5150 – 5250 MHz
    3. 5250 – 5350 MHz
    4. 5470 – 5725 MHz
    5. 5725 – 5825 MHz

    Channel bonding is allowed. The base antennas must be fixed and tamperproof. However, only the lowest and highest bands will be allowed for outdoor use. It's not known yet when it comes into effect.

  • Possibility of Paperwork-Only Type Approval Process

    The Indonesian authority, Direktorat Jenderal Sumber Daya dan Perangkat Pos dan Informatika (SDPPI), communicated that they were considering a new policy allowing paperwork-only for Indonesia’s Type Approval procedures. The new policy could run in parallel to the current Type Approval procedures, which requires local testing.

    The new policy will allow manufacturers to choose between the new paperwork-only process or the existing local testing process. This new policy still awaits release, but is expected to come into force in 2017.


  • Expanded Type Approval Requirements

    As of 2016-02-01, the regulation No. 80-201 is in effect and the scope of type approval now additionally includes:

    • Digital Television DVBT2
    • IP-PABXMedia
    • Gateways
    • Routers
    • Set top box DVBT2
    • Switches
    • Video Conference products

    Testing samples locally is not required but EMC compliance must be proven, for example by existing CE reports.


  • Modular Approval Rule Clarification

    SDPPI has specified the rules for modular approvals for the transition period until end 2013:

    1.  if the module is imported to Indonesia as module proper (without host), modular approval suffices
    2.  If the module will be imported into Indonesia installed in a computer (eg laptop), modular approval should be obtained and host must approved separately (without local testing but by paper based approval).
    3. for modules in hosts other than PC need host level approval and local testing.

    More changes are expected to come.

Description
The Type C electrical plug (or Europlug) is a two-wire plug that has two round pins. It fits into any socket that accepts 4.0 – 4.8 mm round contacts on 19 mm centres. Description
The Type F electrical plug (also known as a Schuko plug) has two 4.8 mm round pins spaced 19 mm apart. It is similar to the Type E plug but has two earth clips on the side rather than a female earth contact. The CEE 7/7 plug was developed to work with sockets E and F and has grounding clips on both sides (to work with Type F sockets) and a female contact (to accept the grounding pin of the type E socket). Type F plugs are rated 16 amps.
